One of the shorter songs on Doris, “Uncle Al” was produced by Earl himself under his RandomBlackDude moniker. Prolific producer The Alchemist has claimed on Twitter that he actually produced the track, hence the name. According to an NPR interview with Earl, he confirmed that Alchemist did produce the track and was even supposed to have a verse on the song. The lyrics are exemplary of Earl’s broken syntax- most of the lines do not use proper grammar and are very uniquely placed much like a lot of his wordplay on the album. Read more on Last.fm.

Thebe Neruda Kgositsile (born February 24, 1994), better known as Earl Sweatshirt, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He released his debut mixtape, EARL, as a free digital download on the OFWGKTA website at sixteen years-old, with the help of founding OFWGKTA member Tyler, the Creator. During the years of 2010 - 2012, he was sent to a reform school, which prompted the #FreeEarl meme. His debut studio album, Doris, was released in 2013 to widespread critical acclaim. He followed this release up with his second album, I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside: An Album by Earl Sweatshirt, in 2015 to an equal amount of acclaim. In 2018, he released his third studio album, Some Rap Songs, which was his last album with Columbia; following it up with the EP Feet of Clay in 2019 on Warner Records.
